BT has announced that it now has 3.5 million Wi-Fi hotspots in the UK and Ireland, and that these are now accessible to RIM BlackBerry users via a new BT FON app for BTs broadband customers. Most of these Wi-Fi hotspots are provided by home users with BT Total Broadband internet connections, who have free access to the network of hotspots by using their BT email address and password. BT Openzone customers and people who buy BT FON passes can also access the network.
